Australian Rhythmic gymnasts to compete in FIG World Challenge Cup

Australia will be represented at the FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup in Pamplona, Spain, set to kick-off this weekend by Phoebe Learmont (pictured) and Veronika Ushakova as well as members of the senior group from Premier Gymnastics Academy

The first of three events in the series, Pamplona will welcome gymnasts from 19 nations all looking to secure one of the eight (8) gold medals on offer. Like the World Cup series held earlier this year, the World Challenge Cup series features All-Around rankings and apparatus finals for Individuals and Groups.

Coming off the back of solid performances at this week's Australian Gymnastics Championships on the Gold Coast, both Learmont and Ushakova will be looking to build on their routines when qualification begins on Friday 20 May. Also looking to emulate the success of being crowned senior group Australian champion, the Senior group from the Premier Gymnastics Academy will represent Australia in the group division, with their first performance on Saturday 21 May, ahead of the finals, on Sunday.

The following week, the series will head to Portimao, Portugal with  Learmont and Ushakova once again representing the green and gold, this time alongside the Aspire Gymnastics Academy in the group division. Qualification starts Friday 27 May.

We wish both the best of luck.
