Gymnastics ACT 2022 State Championships

This weekend (2-3 April), 60 of Canberra’s best gymnasts will compete to take the title of State Champions in Women’s and Men’s Artistic and Trampoline Gymnastics at Canberra Trampoline Gymnastics Club and Gungahlin Gymnastics.

With representation from all five Gymnastics ACT affiliated clubs, the event will also act as a final selection event for gymnasts to represent the ACT at the upcoming Australian Gymnastics Championships on the Gold Coast in May.

Hoping to make their mark at the event will be Senior International athletes, Benjamin Brown (Trampoline), WAG Madison Elphick and Rebecca Rainey (Women’s Artistic) and Adam Falzarano (Men’s Artistic).

Also hoping to continue with their form are our 2021 Australian Championship Medallists Abigail Dolman from Canberra Trampoline Gymnastics Club, Milo Whittingham, Canberra City Gymnastics Club, Csongor Keszei Canberra City Gymnastics Club and Harry Philips from Woden Valley Gymnastics Club.

The two-day event will also feature display routines by Gymnastics Australia’s National Men’s Artistic squad members.

“We respect the commitment, persistence and resilience of every athlete competing at the 2022 GACT Senior Championships. After two years of uncertainty and disruptions, the lead up to this event has been most challenging,” said Gymnastics ACT Chief Executive Officer, Brooke Kneebush.

“We thank the clubs and coaches who have supported the gymnasts to reach their potential and thank the judges who make the competition possible.”
