Successful meet for Aussies at TRP World Champs

The International Gymnastics Federation’s (FIG) 33rd Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships wrapped up in St Petersburg, Russia, over the weekend, in what was overall a successful outing for Australia’s Trampoline Team.

By far the highlight of the event for the Aussies was the combination of Ty Swadling and Dom Clarke reaching the podium in the Men’s Synchronised Trampoline Final, taking home the Bronze Medal with a score of 51.270.

The Synchronised Trampoline was a successful event for the Australians, with the South Australian pairing of Claire Arthur and Cassie Hoare also reach the Final of the Women’s event.  Unfortunately despite qualifying for the Final in third position, a mistake in the Final saw Claire and Cassie ranked seventh in the World – still a remarkable achievement!

A special mention also goes to Dom Clarke and Kira Ward who both reached the Semi Finals in the Men’s and Women’s Individual Trampoline events, finishing 15th and 18th respectively.
